Sports Car Proxy Rounds 1 2 & 3

Two Kelowna cars entered the Sports Car Championship (SCCA) Proxy this year. This is a proxy race series for the cars that ran in SCCA events from 1951-1965. Those include cars that competed in the SCCA National Sports Car Championship (1951-64) and the first 3 years of the SCCA United States Road Racing Championship, which ran 1963-68. Randy entered a Cooper – Ford into the Modified Division and Leo entered a Ford Cobra into the Production Division.

Race #1 The River Run

Race #1 was ran in Merrimac Massachusetts at the River Run track owned by Audi1. Both Kelowna cars finished with fantastic results – Leo second in the Production Division and Randy fourth in the Modified Division. Congratulations!

Race #2 Cornerstone Raceway

Race #2 was held at Cornerstone Raceway in Grafton Mass at Mether05’s track. Leo continued his great results with a 4th place finish in the Production Class while Randy dropped finished 16th overall.

Race #3 Rockledge Raceway Connecticut

Race #3 brought the SCCA cars to Connecticut at the Rockledge Raceway. Leo’s Cobra finished a strong 5th place while Randy’s Cooper – Ford finished mid pack at 18th overall.
